Hivebase flyover

Welcome! Hivebase is a simple, powerful platform where you can organize and manage all your construction documents. Let's take a quick look.

Projects

Projects are the foundation of your Hivebase repository, where folders and files are stored.

  • The projects page is where you can search, filter, and sort to find any project.
  • Each project has an overview page with notes, pinned documents, and a list of primary folders
  • Projects can contain different document types with as many folders and files as you need.

Files

Files are stored under projects. You can navigate folders, interact with your files, view, download... everything you'd expect from a user-friendly document management system.

You also have the main files pages where you can browse all your files in one place. You can filter, search, sort, and see previews of all your files. Clicking on a file from this page will take you to the project and folder where the file is stored and highlight it.

Collections

Sometimes it's helpful to group projects, folders, or even files into custom associations or collections. This can make it easy to find related items without needing to drill down through many projects and folder structures.

For example, you might want to have collections for...

  • Projects grouped by a common field like location (campus, building, etc)
  • Folders that contain certain types of documents like safety manuals
  • Individual files like maps

... and so on.

Collections can even contain other collections! This means you can have custom drill-down pathways for users to click down. For example, you could provide a collection path by campus, then building, then department, and finally a list of pertinent projects.

Users

To get access to a Hivebase account a user must be invited by an existing account with administrative permissions. Each user is assigned a role that determines what they are allowed to do.
