Search and filter

With instant global search and powerful filter options, you can easily find any project or file.

Global quick search

The fastest way to find a project, folder, or file is with a quick search at the very top.

Emphasis on quick:

Search results are instant, showing matches as you type. Click on any item in the results to jump straight to that project, folder, or file.

Full list search

The quick search is awesome, but it only will show the best matches out of all your possible projects and files. If you want to see all possible projects or files that match your search, head to the projects or files page and use those respective search fields at the top of the lists.

With this approach, you can see the full project or file context with additional fields.

Advanced filtering

Sometimes a keyword search isn't enough. Let's look at how you can perform a powerful, precise level of filtering and drill down to exactly what you're looking for.

On both the projects and files pages, there is a filters menu next to the search box. Click this and you will see a drop-down of available fields that can be filtered.

The options in this drop-down come from your custom project fields and document types.

Click on any field and a window will open where you can specify the filter criteria.

The first drop-down in this window is the type of condition you want to use. For all field types you have at least these two options:

  1. Is equal to: performs an exact match.
  2. Is not equal to: excludes exact matches.

For text fields, you can also select one of these options:

  1. Contains: performs a partial match for example "brow" would match an architect name of "Walker Brown Design"
  2. Does not contain: excludes the partial matches

For numeric and date fields you have comparison and range options:

  1. Greater than (or equal to): search for a value higher than specified
  2. Lower than (or equal to): search for a value lower than specified
  3. Is between: search within a range.

Filter example

Applying the above filter concepts, you could add a handful of filters like this to drill down by building, floor, work type, date range, and even keyword to find something very specific.

Each applied filter appears at the top of the list, you can click to remove and adjust them as needed.
